THE PLATFORM
What I Stand For
Tap any priority to see the details.
I
Fiscal Responsibility & Transparency
Every taxpayer dollar easy to find, and clear accountability for delivering.
▾
Build on the county’s own HEART budget database so every dollar is easy to find and understand, and make it work well on your phone.
Publish a first-100-days public scorecard tracking delivery on these commitments.
Publish an annual report of the state and federal dollars brought home to the county.
Hold the line on permit and service fees for homeowners.
II
Bringing Government to You
County government that comes to your community, not the other way around.
▾
Hold regular county office hours in communities across the county: Robards, Cairo, Corydon, Spottsville, and more, not just in the city.
Fix the permitting bottleneck with a single point of contact across the offices involved and a clear, step-by-step timeline.
Publish permit turnaround-time targets so you know how long things will take.
III
Infrastructure & Public Works
Roads, storms, and connectivity handled openly and on a real timeline.
▾
A public road and pothole dashboard showing what’s reported, what’s fixed, and the target repair time.
A published snow and ice priority-route map with turnaround targets for county roads.
A severe-weather plan published before each season: warming centers, mutual aid, and supply contracts.
A real-time county road-closure status system so closure signs never go stale.
Finish the broadband buildout and publish a map of the areas still unserved.
IV
Public Safety
Backing our first responders and fixing the animal shelter crisis.
▾
Stable funding and reliable equipment for every volunteer fire department in the county.
Publish an annual VFD equipment and needs assessment.
Help departments win state and federal equipment grants through coordinated, joint applications.
Make sure Animal Control has the resources to fully use existing cruelty and neglect law.
End the shelter’s yearly “Code Red” by partnering with local low-cost spay and neuter providers.
V
Smart Growth & Responsible Development
Growth that respects neighborhoods, with clear rules set in advance.
▾
Support marketing the 4 Star Industrial Park while strengthening protections for the homes next to it.
A transparent, consistent public review process for any future large-scale development, whether wind, solar, or data centers, before one ever lands here.
VI
Quality of Life & Community Investment
Parks, recreation, and access to everyday essentials.
▾
Invest in parks, outdoor recreation, and the county’s tree canopy.
Support and expand rural transit options for people without another way to get around.
Work to close gaps in access to childcare, groceries, and pharmacies in rural areas.
VII
Small Towns & Unincorporated County
Making sure every corner of the county is seen and served.
▾
An annual small-town investment report for Corydon, Robards, and the unincorporated areas.
A public annual accounting of the watershed drainage taxing districts, so residents know their dedicated tax dollars go to flood mitigation.
VIII
State & Federal Partnership
Working every level of government to bring resources home.
▾
Continue building direct working relationships with our state and federal representatives to secure funding for broadband, rural health, roads and bridges, and disaster recovery.
Coordinate with the school board on shared growth and safety issues, while respecting its independent authority.
